Special - Long Flat Destinations Barossa Shiraz 2005 "(Barossa Valley,
SA) Extraordinarily good value, the Long Flat Barossa Shiraz is
a lesson in modern winemaking practicality.Forget vineyards & wineries,
for all the wine for this brand is all sourced under contract. Without
the overheads, The Long Flat wines cost less to make, and thus need
to be sold for less - hence the exceptional value of this wine (and
the whole range) .A 100% Barossan Shiraz, this is rich, soft and
mouthfilling red with luscious fruit and integrated vanillan oak.

MEEREA
PARK SHIRAZ 2005 "(Hunter, Hilltops, NSW) A new release from the
highly lauded Meera Park label, this medium bodied wine has wonderful
fruit purity and ripe soft tannins, making it an exceptional food
wine. The 2005 vintage was particularly favourable for these two
regions, with the Hunter showing one of the driest, most ideal growing
seasons in some time.Aromas of dried cherry, raspberry pie, smoky
bacon, dried herbs and spice, curious smelling wine but I like it.
On the palate medium to full bodied with dried cherry, raspberry,
dried herb and earthy flavours. Smooth texture with some grainy
tannins. Gamey raspberry finish of good length. Very good wine at
this price' Gary Walsh, Winorama'Meerea Park's offerings are generally
not complex, but they are hedonistic, delicious reds possessing
abundant fruit . . . everything a beverage of pleasure should be'.
Robert Parker Jnr. - The Wine Advocate - October 2002 Rhys Eather....'He's
become something of a star winemaker, but he's picky.'Tim White
- Australian Financial Review - February 2002 'Meerea Park is among
the Hunter Valley's foremost boutique winemakers..'Jeff Collerson
